All of us, regardless of race or age, should work toward a healthy lifestyle. But for Black folks, promoting holistic wellness is the perfect way to give a middle finger to a society that has continually failed to kill us but failed. As we raise the next generation, this is especially important. 

Being holistically healthy will look different from person to person. In most cases, it involves considering your mental, physical, spiritual, and nutritional habits so we can better care for ourselves and our children.

This is harder for parents, but the impact is also bigger. Each healthy choice we make is a chance to show our children that “being well” is possible. If you’re looking for wellness leaders who can inspire and guide you toward health and wellness, here are five to follow:
